ABOUT SCHOOL OF NURSING AMAIGBO
The Roman Catholic Church of the Diocese of Orlu and the Government of Imo State collaborated to build the College of Nursing Sciences, St. Mary’s Joint Hospital (CONSA). The current Bishop of the Orlu Diocese is Rt Rev Dr. Augustine Ukwuoma, while the first proprietor was Most Rev Gregory Obinna (Emeritus).
The school was constructed on land donated by the Amaigbo community. Mazi Mbonu Ojike, the finance minister at the time, formally opened it on June 2, 1955. 500 meters behind Nwangele LGA, on Anara Orlu Road in Imo State, is the College of Nursing Sciences, St. Mary’s Joint Hospital.
