ABOUT SACRED HEART SCHOOL OF NURSING

Sacred Heart College of Nursing Sciences is a private (missionary) institution owned by the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta, under the proprietorship of Most Rev’d. Dr. Peter Olukayode Odetoyinbo.

Since the founding of the School of Midwifery in 1950, numerous tutors have worked for various principals, with Rev. Sr. Consolata serving as the first principal, followed by Mrs. Oguntoyinbo and Rev. Sr. Joan Amor.

The School of Midwifery was renamed the School of Nursing in 1998, and Mr. Oke G. O. was appointed as the school’s first principal. Following his retirement, Mrs. Oni M. I. took over as principal from 2014 until November 2022, and then Rev. Sr. Queen Edochie [OLA] took over as principal.

Rev. Sr. Queen Edochie is currently the Provost of the Sacred Heart College of Nusing Sciences, which was once the School of Nursing but was renamed Sacred Heart College of Nursing Sciences.

THE FORMAT OF SACRED HEART SCHOOL OF NURSING ENTRANCE EXAM

Unlike some other universities, the Sacred Heart College of Nursing Sciences, situated in Lantoro, Abeokuta, does not use a standardised entrance exam format. Rather, candidates’ performance in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam and their performance in a post-UTME screening are the main factors that determine their admission to the institution.

1. JAMB Exam: Applicants must sit for and pass the JAMB exam with a minimum score of 170.
